Style Check'd

This week marked yet another Fashion week in the Indian fashion calendar. Lakme India fashion week has already begun with lots of news considering the carol gracia wardrobe malfunction which happened last year. With the legal authorities all keen to keep an eye over the shows happening this time the scope for any more malfunction in the Indian fashion industry will be tightened up. Mumbai police branch had a tough time when two wardrobe malfunctions involving top models – Carol Gracias and Gauhar Khan – at the Fall/Winter Week in March had led to an uproar about vulgarity and deliberate attempts by designers to hog attention.
Well the issue had two versions to it, one which stated a clear “accident” while other a scandalous attempt by the designers to attract limelight. After, these incidents on the ramp, speculation were high that the moral police will regulate the fashion shows and which did come into action this time with LFW. Mumbai police claims that this time they have undertaken in writing from the organizers and designers that they will follow a code of conduct and list their creations and other details which they will display over the next couple of days. To increase the audience the plain clothes policeman will be watching the shows especially to keep an eye for any scope of errors on the ramp.
Meanwhile, after the incident Carol Gracia said that she was embarrassed by the
incident and pledged not to ramp with the designer, Sehgall again. What needs to be appreciated would be the way carol carried herself so gracefully even after the show down, which I would put it as something very professional to see. Hope to see her soon on the ramp again.
